Confirmation Bias

The cognitive tendency to weigh evidence that supports existing beliefs more heavily than evidence that disconfirms them.

Confirmation bias is a structural feature of human cognition that the Editorial Methodology treats as a discipline problem, not a moral failing. Editorial process is designed to surface and test it.
